City Wide Clean Up

Please have your items out to the curb no later than 7:00 a.m.


Below is a list of acceptable and non-acceptable items.  If you have any questions regarding the Spring Cleanup, please feel free to call City Hall or Wemiga Waste (319-986-6919) during normal business hours.

REMINDER: The City of Bonaparte provides this cleanup to allow for customers to get rid of unwanted items that have been collecting over time.  Please remember that it's against the City of Bonaparte's Code of Ordinances to to haul any solid waste material to another place inside of city limits.  Please refrain from collecting items that people have out to the curb.  Please note the following (in part), “No person(s) shall haul or cause to be hauled any solid waste material of any kind, to any disposal site or area within the corporate limits of the city unless such place, site, or area has been properly zoned for such use and any permits required by such zoning obtained.” Failure to comply with this Ordinance will be punishable by fine(s).

Bicycles
Furnace
Air conditioner
Wood stove
Mower ride or push
Other miscellaneous scrap metal items in reason

List of trash & bulk items accepted during clean up:

Box spring and mattress
Couch or love seat
Chair or recliner
Table or bench
Dresser and nightstand
Bed – head, foot, and sides
Window or door

Carpet rolled and tied in 6' length

Used Oil - 5 gallon limit

Dried latex paint ONLY

Misc. household unwanted items
Any other large bulk items within reason



List of CRT items: Hauler will provide stickers @ $20 each which you can purchase at City Hall.  Sticker must be adhered to monitor. If you do not have a sticker, your item will be picked up by City Maintenance and you will be billed for the cost to haul, plus the cost of the sticker.  (Minimum charge, $170.00.)
