A Taste of History

Bonaparte Main Street, Inc. will host the Taste of History on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Whiteley Opera House in downtown Bonaparte, Iowa.  The annual three course dinner theater starts at 6:00 pm.  Reservations are required.

This unique adaptation of a cemetery tour combines the comfort of indoor seating with a meal and entertainment.  Locals perform in costume and character relating stories in the first person between each course of the evening.  Guests sit at tables designed and set by the actors reflecting the era, story, or character they portray.  The actors also serve as your waiters.

Music enhances the event and introduces each character.  Music is being coordinated by Frannie Troutman, Betty Eis and Dana Mabe with Brandon Thomson and Jackie Hoaglin performing that evening and accompanied by Julie Vance.

Performances this year will be by Rick Alexander, Sam Wenke, Rhea Huddleston, Gianna Barrow, Kirk Murguia, Ken Burns, Sam Erickson, and D. J. Meyer.

For more information or to make reservations contact the Bonaparte Main Street office at 319-592-3400.
